About Sugar Beach Resort Hotel

Located at 1773 US-31, Traverse City, MI 49686, Sugar Beach Resort Hotel operates as a tennis resort serving Traverse City in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as hotel, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Traverse City is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Traverse City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We just spent a week here and loved it. Guess it's new owners so if you've been here before and didn't love it. Check it out again. Cleaning staff was always around keeping it in great shape which is tough with all the sand. Beach is combed often, chairs in great shape. Breakfast is ordered the night before and delivered to your door in the morning and did the job. Right in the middle of everything in town. Really had no complaints!

We had an amazing time for our 3 day stay. We've visited SB on more than one occasion but this one was the best yet! The resort is in great driving distances to so many great activities and attractions (mission pt. Lighthouse & Beach, Mission Flowers, the Commons). You won't be disappointed to grab your next getaway at Sugar Beach! The waterfront views will just melt your heart! The staff were so courteous and accommodating which made for a more peaceful stay. Thank you to the staff and management for an excellent experience!

3 night stay. Overall my stay was good. Room was clean & bed was nice and soft. Sleep good. My only issue was that for a smoke free property. It wasn't very smoke free. Could not enjoy my balcony view due to other guest smoking on their balcony. Reported it to management. But nothing was really done about it.

Our family travels a lot, and we loved this hotel. A truly perfect location for a beach stay. We loved spending the day on the beach, and appreciated the setup of chairs and umbrellas. Rentals were nearby, and easy to find. A walk to several nearby hotspots, and a quick drive to more shopping, restaurants, and more. The hotel was clean, the room was spacious- I highly recommend a suite, it was perfect for our family- and the beds were comfortable. Staff was helpful, and attentive. I appreciated the breakfast delivery- small, but solid way to start the day. Would highly recommend this hotel to families traveling through Traverse City!

My girlfriend and I had the privilege of staying here for 3 nights. The staff was so fantastic. I interacted with a couple different staff members and felt they wanted to go above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. They offered boxed breakfast to your room every morning, just filling out a card and returning it. I even had flowers delivered to our room before arrival and they took care of the rest. You have access to beach and beach chairs. 5-10 minute drive to downtown. Why I am marking it down though is the cobwebs on the chairs and table on our balcony as well as the beach chairs. And I know they can't control the bugs but there were a lot of bugs out on the balcony. Finding ways to improve that will make it more enjoyable. I guess the webs collected the bugs, which helps solve the bug problem haha. Power washing the balconies would go a long way for guests.
